Oil-Free Air Fryer French Fries

Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium russet potato cut into short, steak-fry pieces
  • 1 tbsp flour sub oat flour (1) for gluten free
  • 1/4 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • salt & pepper to taste

  • air fryer

Method
 

  1. Add cut potatoes to a boiling pot of water and cook for four minutes; be sure not to overcook to maintain proper texture
  2. Place in mixing bowl with a splash of cooking water (~1-2tsp) and toss to coat in cooking water
  3. Add flour and spices and toss until evenly coated
  4. Cook on air fryer setting at 390 degrees F for 20 minutes, rotating every 5 minutes until crispy brown (2)
  5. Serve by themselves or with ketchup (or sriracha ketchup which is my favorite) or your favorite condiment
  6. Enjoy!

Notes

  1. You can make oat flour yourself by blending rolled oats in your blender. 
  2. Leave the air fryer running while you quickly toss the fries in the basket, rather than pausing the timer. Pausing the time will overcook them.
